Beautiful, Not Broken
I grew up near the ocean and have always found it a peaceful and grounding place where you can get perspective on life. It's a feeling that seems to become physical in the form of sea glass. The concept just fills me with hope. Something can be totally broken and shattered into pieces that can never be put back together again in the same way. But despite this, given a little time (and of course, the ocean) the pieces left behind take on a new beauty. They don't need to resemble what they once were because what they have become is enough.
I moved away from the sea as an adult but having a shard of smooth worn sea glass in my coat pocket felt like a comfort to me and a reminder of the ocean. This is what inspired me to design the 'beautiful not broken' collection of jewellery for Moon and Dusk.
A range of beautiful Fine and Sterling Silver necklaces, earrings and rings. The process I use to craft the fine silver pieces not only uses recycled and reclaimed silver, but it also results in less scrap and wastage than traditional silversmithing techniques. The silver is just as pure, and I am registered with the Edinburgh Assay office who Hallmark my silver pieces. I love the idea of creating something new from something that has been discarded, and I hope you love my designs.
