This necklace became so much more than I originally planned.
It all started with a quote I shared on Instagram:
"Midlife is basically becoming the person you were at 16 but loving her this time."
The quote struck a chord, and so did the conversations that followed. It made me realise that so many of us spent years trying to fix parts of ourselves that never really needed fixing in the first place.
So I asked my community a simple question:
If you could go back and tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
What surprised me was that nobody said they'd tell her to fit in more, be prettier, thinner, funnier or more popular.
Instead, the answers were full of kindness, compassion and understanding.
They were the words we wish we'd heard back then, and often still need reminding of now.
This necklace was inspired by those conversations. Each charm symbolises a piece of that wisdom, a little reminder to carry with you as you navigate this next chapter of life.
The Charms
Crescent Moon • Wholeness
A reminder that two things can be true at once. Some days you'll feel full of light and confidence, other days quieter and more withdrawn. Like the moon, you are still whole in every phase.
Four Leaf Clover • Gratitude
A reminder to stay true to yourself instead of trying to fit in. To focus on your strengths, your magic and the things already good in your life.
Heart • Compassion
A little reminder to speak to yourself with the same kindness and compassion you so freely give to everyone else.
Butterfly • Becoming
A symbol of growth and transformation. A reminder that you already have everything inside you to become the person you're meant to be.
Flower • Growth
A reminder that mistakes are part of growing. You don't have to bloom overnight, and you don't have to grow at anyone else's pace either.
The beaded section of the necklace is available in three colour options: Dusky Blue, Shimmery Pink and Pearly White, making it easy to style with your favourite Moon & Dusk pieces or add to your existing necklace stack.
Each silver charm is lovingly handmade from scratch by me in my little jewellery studio in Central Scotland.
